Spark Somerset has joined more than 80 UK organisations to call on Chancellor John Healey to commit to sustainable charity funding in the upcoming budget.
The charity said so much would be lost if charities and community organisations were not properly supported.
Katherine Nolan, CEO of Spark Somerset, said: “Charities and community organisations are not an optional extra. They are essential partners in building stronger, healthier and more resilient communities.
“Across Somerset, the voluntary sector supports people every day, often reaching those who would otherwise go without help. Sustainable investment is vital if organisations are to continue delivering this impact.
“We urge Government to recognise charities as strategic partners and provide the long-term funding needed to help communities thrive.”
