EDF and its partners are building a new 3.2 GW nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater, in Somerset. The Hinkley Supply Chain team is overseen by Somerset Chamber of Commerce to ensure local and regional companies benefit from the legacy of the project.
The opportunities for local, South West and South Wales suppliers is both large and complex. The Hinkley Supply Chain team works to match potential suppliers with EDF and their contractors. The team has a dedicated e-newsletter which keeps suppliers up-to-date with the latest information about the project and features case studies from companies which have already secured work. The team also records and maps the core capabilities of potential suppliers against project requirements and brokers relevant business support to help suppliers meet the necessary quality and safety standards to work at site.
