Customers reported warmer, more suitable homes, improved wellbeing and fewer worries about energy costs improvements funded through Lendology CIC.
Lendology CIC delivered £4.52 million in home improvement lending and supported 388 homeowners in 2025/26, its newly published Social Impact Report reveals. Lending increased by 20.9% on the previous year, with 13% more homeowners supported.
Working in partnership with local authorities, the social lender helps homeowners fund essential repairs, energy-efficiency improvements and adaptations. Its latest report explores what that finance made possible, from homes that better meet people’s needs to reduced concerns about heating bills.
Customers responding to Lendology’s impact survey were asked to reflect on their circumstances before and after their improvements. Among the findings:
A spokesperson for Lendology said the findings highlighted why access to home improvement finance mattered. A leaking roof, an unreliable heating system or a home that no longer met someone’s needs could require work long before they had a straightforward way to pay for it. Savings and grants did not meet every circumstance, while conventional finance might not always be available or appropriate.
Lendology worked with councils to help bridge that gap, taking the time to understand individual circumstances and providing support throughout the lending process.
Emma Lower, CEO of Lendology CIC, said: “Essential repairs finally completed. A home that feels warmer. Adaptations that help someone live more independently. These are the changes that matter to the people we support.
“The loan itself is not the impact. It is what the finance makes possible.
“Our council partnerships help us give homeowners another route to getting necessary work done when other funding may not meet their circumstances. Behind the figures in this report are people who have shared how those improvements have changed their everyday lives.”
The report also highlights Lendology’s support for energy-efficiency and renewable improvements, with 177 solar installations and 35 heat pumps supported during the year. It explores the contribution of lending for disability adaptations, improvements to rental properties and bringing empty homes back into use.
The findings combine lending data, customer feedback and wider impact analysis. Survey results reflect the experiences of respondents, and the report sets out the methodology and assumptions behind its impact estimates.

New North East partnership announced
Lendology has announced a new partnership with the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority to help homeowners and private landlords across the North East access affordable finance for energy efficiency improvements.
The new North East Warm Homes Loan scheme offers eligible homeowners and landlords loans ranging from £2,000 to £25,000 at a fixed interest rate of 2% (representative 2.2% APR) to support improvements that can make properties warmer and more energy efficient.
Backed by a £1 million fund, the scheme will enable borrowers to invest in measures including insulation, solar panels, heat pumps and energy efficient windows and doors.
The initiative combines investment from the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority with Lendology’s experience in delivering responsible lending programmes in partnership with local authorities. It forms part of the wider North East Warm Homes programme, which aims to support improvements to housing across the region.
Through the partnership, eligible homeowners and landlords will have access to affordable finance designed to help reduce energy use, improve property performance and support the transition to lower-carbon homes.
