Old Mill and Somerset Community Foundation partnership reaches £90,000

Over more than six years, Old Mill has partnered with Somerset Community Foundation (SCF), helping provide much-needed financial support to charities and community organisations across the South West. This year marks a significant milestone, with £90,000 distributed to local causes through the Foundation.

The funding has benefited a diverse range of organisations, including Crewkerne Community Kitchen, the Octagon Theatre and the Parochial Church Council in Henton, enabling them to continue delivering valuable services and opportunities for local people.

Old Mill is one of the South West’s leading professional services firms, supporting individuals, businesses and rural enterprises from offices in Wells, Yeovil, Chippenham, Exeter and Ilminster. Now part of Kinbrook Group, Old Mill combines its long-standing regional relationships and understanding with access to the wider capabilities, investment and resources of a growing national professional services group.

That commitment to the region extends beyond the professional services Old Mill provides. Supporting the communities in which its people and clients live and work has long been an important part of the firm’s approach.

Through its partnership with SCF, Old Mill has helped direct funding towards organisations supporting young people, promoting healthier and happier lives and creating thriving community spaces.

The funds raised by Old Mill’s people have been further boosted through match funding awarded to charities supported by each of the firm’s offices in Wells, Yeovil, Chippenham, Exeter and Ilminster, increasing the support available to charities and grassroots projects throughout the South West. Together, this has enabled the partnership to support a broader range of organisations and extend its impact across the region.

SCF works with businesses, philanthropists and charitable organisations to identify where financial support can make the greatest difference. By connecting donors with grassroots initiatives, the Foundation helps resources reach local organisations and communities where they can have the greatest impact.

Reaching £90,000 comes during an important year for Old Mill, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary and two decades of growth, relationships and commitment to the South West.

Mark Neath (pictured), CEO at Old Mill, said: “Supporting local causes has always been important to us because we see first-hand the difference these organisations make to people’s lives. Through our partnership with SCF, we can help funding reach projects where it can make a real difference.

“As we enter our third decade as part of Kinbrook Group, our commitment to the South West remains as strong as ever. We retain the local relationships and understanding that have shaped Old Mill over the past 20 years, while benefiting from the investment, collaboration and wider capabilities of the Group.

“Reaching £90,000 is something we can all be proud of, but we also want to build on it. We look forward to continuing our partnership with SCF and supporting more organisations doing important work across the region.”
