UK subsea technology specialist Atlantas Marine has appointed Spry Technocon Pvt Ltd as a distributor for its products in India as part of its international growth strategy.
The agreement will give customers in the Indian defence, port, offshore and survey sectors access to Atlantas Marine’s range of remotely operated vehicle (ROV) equipment, including its Tornado subsea initiation system, Typhoon ROV lock latch, Storm IP HD camera and Cyclone CP cathodic protection system. 
Atlantas Marine, which designs and manufactures its products in Yeovil, said the appointment forms part of wider plans to increase the availability of its technology in overseas markets. The company has operated ROV systems for more than 25 years across sectors including offshore renewables, defence, nuclear, water and infrastructure.
Managing Director, Charlie Foll, said: “As part of our plans to expand globally, India is an important market for our subsea inspection and clearance equipment. We welcome Spry Technocon to assist us with our growth and to support and build our Indian customer base.”
Atlantas Marine said the agreement would provide customers in the region with access to equipment, training, spare parts and technical support through a local representative.
The company said its Tornado system is designed to enable the remote initiation of electrical detonators and disruptors from an ROV, while the Typhoon lock latch is intended to improve launch and recovery operations. The distribution agreement also covers the company’s Storm IP subsea camera and Cyclone CP cathodic protection measurement system.
Further products are expected to be added to the arrangement as they become available.
