Power Platform and Process Automation Skills Bootcamp

Reduce repetitive work and improve business processes

Manual tasks can quietly take up hours of working time. Copying information between spreadsheets, sending routine emails, updating records and producing regular reports all add to the workload.
Cosmic’s Power Platform and Process Automation Skills Bootcamp helps businesses and self-employed people find better ways to manage these tasks.
The course introduces Microsoft’s low-code Power Platform tools. Learners will discover how to build useful apps, automate regular processes and turn business data into clear, interactive reports.

Training covers:

  • Power Apps for creating simple business applications
  • Power Automate for automating routine tasks and workflows
  • Power BI for turning data into dashboards and useful insights
  • Power Virtual Agents for creating chatbots
  • Power Pages for building secure websites and online portals

Coding experience is not required. Learners receive live support while working through practical examples and business challenges.
Each participant will also complete a final project based on a real organisational need. This could be an automated approval process, a reporting dashboard, a customer enquiry system or an app that replaces a time-consuming manual task.

Which businesses could benefit?
The Bootcamp could be valuable for Somerset businesses that want to:

  • Reduce repetitive administration
  • Improve how information moves between systems
  • Make better use of Microsoft 365
  • Reduce mistakes caused by manual data entry
  • Create clearer reports and dashboards
  • Give employees the skills to improve business processes

Suitable participants may include business owners, managers and employees working in administration, finance, operations, reporting, customer service or project management.
The training is also suitable for self-employed people who want to spend less time on administration and more time developing their business. New workflows and automated processes can make a real difference when one person is managing several areas of work.

Course dates and format
Start date: Monday 21 September 2026
Course length: Nine weeks
Times: Two mornings each week, Mondays and Tuesdays, from 9.30am to 1pm
Total training: 60 guided learning hours
Location: Live online

Employer and self-employed costs
Government funding covers most or all of the training cost.

  • Businesses with fewer than 250 employees: £225 per learner
  • Large organisations with over 250 employees: £677 per learner
  • Self-employed people: Fully funded, subject to eligibility

Businesses can register one employee or develop digital skills across a wider team.
For businesses where repetitive work is costing time each week, this training could cost far less than allowing inefficient processes to continue.

Places are limited, and expressions of interest are now open.

Businesses can register members of staff, while self-employed people can apply for their own fully funded place:
