St Margaret’s Hospice invites Somerset businesses to take on the £50 Challenge

St Margaret’s Hospice Care is calling on businesses across Somerset to put their creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit to the test by taking part in its £50 Challenge.

Launching on Tuesday, September 1, the challenge gives participating businesses £50and 50 days to turn it into as much money as possible to support hospice care across Somerset.

Teams can raise funds in any way they choose, from raffles, quizzes and bake sales to sponsored challenges, workplace sweepstakes, or entirely original ideas. At the end of the challenge, businesses simply return the original £50 plus any additional funds raised.

The initiative offers a simple and engaging way for businesses to bring teams together, support CSR activity, strengthen workplace culture and raise their local profile.

Every pound raised will help St Margaret’s Hospice provide expert compassionate care and support to people facing life-limiting illness and their families, across Somerset.

Participating businesses will receive a welcome pack with fundraising ideas, resources and social media templates, as well as updates and shout-outs throughout the campaign. The challenge will conclude with a celebration event, where achievements will be recognised and awards presented.

Last year’s fundraising challenge (known as the £45 Challenge for the hospice’s 45th anniversary) saw local businesses raise thousands of pounds through activities including barbecues, wine evenings, car washes, raffles and bingo.

There is no minimum fundraising target, making the £50 Challenge accessible to businesses of all sizes.

The registration deadline is Monday, August 17, while the challenge runs from Tuesday, September 1 to Wednesday, October 21.

Businesses can register or find out more by visiting the St Margaret’s Hospice website.
