Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) has launched a public consultation on plans to develop a new operational base at the Leonardo Helicopters site in Yeovil.
The consultarion is the first stage of engagement with local residents, stakeholders and the wider community, giving people the opportunity to learn more about the charity’s proposals, ask questions and share their feedback before a planning application is submitted to Somerset Council. 
Designed to support the long-term resilience, efficiency and clinical effectiveness of its life-saving service, the proposed development will offer excellent facilities for air ambulance deployment, purpose-built spaces for clinical training, operational planning, patient and family aftercare, and access for community engagement.

The charity is also hosting a community drop-in event where members of the public can meet representatives from DSAA and the project team, find out more about the proposals and share their views in-person. The event takes place on Tuesday, June 2, in The Parish Suite at Westlands Entertainment Centre, Yeovil, from 4pm-7pm.
