Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) hosted its new event, Seaside Scramble, at Baiter Park, Poole, raising vital funds and awareness to help the charity continue delivering life-saving care across Dorset and Somerset.
Hundreds of participants of all ages took part in the fun-filled 5K, tackling air ambulance-themed obstacles as they ran, climbed, crawled and scrambled around the course, which included the ‘Rescue Route Tunnels’ and the ‘Crew Crawl’.
Around one third of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s missions take place across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, By taking part in Seaside Scramble, participants helped raise funds and awareness of the charity’s vital impact in their community.
Alana Hardy, DSAA Events Officer, said: “This is a new event for DSAA. We wanted to create something enjoyable and family friendly with the obstacles bringing an added sense of fun and challenge to the race.
“We chose to host it in an area where we regularly operate, in the hope that it would also raise awareness of our work locally, which made Poole an ideal choice.
“We hope it will become an annual event and grow bigger and better each year. Some 35 volunteers and team members supported the event and were amazing – thank you to everyone who came along and made the day so special for all of us.”
