In conjunction with Yeovil College, the iAero Innovation Centre is currently running an Industry V4 Skills Bootcamp to support upskilling in the aerospace sector.
The course, devised around factory of the future technologies, offers insight into the digital world of manufacturing techniques but also the mechanisms by which, factories, their equipment and their output can be monitored and managed to improve productivity, efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
The 12 week course, run by Yeovil College, includes practical experience of digital work instructions, SMART workbench technologies, augmented and virtual reality systems, co-botics and Factory of the Future management systems.
The Factory ‘plus’ system (pictured) has been developed by the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), now under development at the iAero Innovation Centre with Leonardo Helicopters.
Future Industry V4 bootcamps are planned in 2025, specifically for SME’s based in the south-west. Further details on how to sign up for the course will be provided through iAero and Yeovil College in November.
