The Royal Bath & West Society launches South West Future Fair to inspire the region's next generation of talent

The Royal Bath & West of England Society is expanding its educational offering with the launch of the South West Future Fair, a new careers and skills event designed to help secondary school, sixth form and college students explore future opportunities and prepare for the world of work.

Taking place on Wednesday, November 18 in the Showering Pavilion at the Bath & West Showground, the event will run during the early evening to allow students and parents to attend outside of school hours.

Expected to attract between 1,000 and 1,500 visitors, the South West Future Fair will bring together around 50 employers, universities, colleges, apprenticeship providers and training organisations from across the region. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of career pathways, learn about further and higher education options, and gain valuable insights into skills that employers are seeking.

As a natural extension of the Society’s long-standing commitment to education, the event aims to support young people at a crucial stage in their development, helping them make informed decisions about their future careers.

Alongside the exhibition, a programme of practical workshops will provide students with essential employability skills. Sessions will include CV writing, mock interviews, and “Stay Hired, Not Fired”, offering advice on workplace expectations, professional behaviour and the personal skills needed to succeed in employment.

The event will also provide opportunities for students and parents to speak directly with employers and industry professionals, helping young people build confidence and gain a clearer understanding of the opportunities available to them in the South West and beyond.

A spokesperson for the Royal Bath & West of England Society said: “The South West Future Fair will connect young people with employers, educators and training providers, giving them practical advice, inspiration and real-world insights into the many routes available after school or college. We are delighted to create an event that supports students as they take their next steps towards rewarding careers.”

Tickets are now available for schools, with registrations also open to individual students and parents. Exhibitor bookings are also open, with businesses and organisations invited to secure a stand and showcase career opportunities, apprenticeships, training programmes and educational pathways to the region’s future workforce.
