South West-based accountancy and financial planning firm Albert Goodman’s new charitable initiative, the Albert Goodman Foundation, has raised £5,000 for charities and community groups across the South West after hosting its inaugural charity golf day at Oake Manor Golf Club. near Taunton.
A total of 84 golfers from 21 teams representing businesses across the region took part in the event, which combined a day of competition with fundraising activities, including a team and individual competitions, nearest-the-pin and longest-drive challenges, and a raffle.
Farnfields solicitors claimed the team trophy, narrowly beating Mogers Drewett to first place. The Farnfields team have won a flight in the Albert Goodman hot air balloon during 2027.
The event was also supported by nine businesses that sponsored holes around the course, helping maximise the funds raised for charities and community groups.
Neil Wyatt, trustee of the Albert Goodman Foundation, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made our first Albert Goodman Charitable Foundation golf day such a success. Raising £5,000 is a fantastic result, and every penny will help the charities and community groups we support across the region.
“It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves while raising funds, and we’re already looking forward to returning in 2027.”
Launched earlier this year, the Albert Goodman Foundation was established to expand the firm’s longstanding commitment to supporting local causes.
The foundation provides grants and support to charities, voluntary organisations and community groups working to make a positive difference across the South West. More information on how to apply for funding can be found here: https://albertgoodman.co.uk/foundation
