Somerset County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that Grammy Award-winning performer Lionel Richie will be performing a spectacular open air event at the Cooper Associates County Ground’s first major concert since 2014.
Famed for his iconic hits such as ‘All Night Long’, ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’, and ‘Hello’, Lionel will perform in the magnificent cricket ground in the historic town of Taunton on Sunday June 11, 2023.
Lionel Richie’s music is part of the fabric of popular culture with more than 125 million albums sold worldwide. Richie has won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, four Grammy Awards, and most recently, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Class.
This year, he received the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by the American Library of Congress, and is the 12th recipient of the prestigious award. Richie’s further mega-hits such as ‘Endless Love’, ‘Lady’, ‘Truly’, ‘Penny Lover’, ‘Stuck on You’, ‘Say You, Say Me’, as well as his hits with The Commodores including ‘Three Times a Lady’, ‘Still’, and ‘Easy’, have seen him become one of music’s best-loved and most iconic stars.
2022 and 2023 Members of Somerset County Cricket Club can gain priority access to tickets. Members will be emailed a special link which will give them access to priority tickets at 12pm on Wednesday November 2. Non-Members can register their interest in tickets. Signing-up before Wednesday will give them priority access!
