Richard Huish College students are celebrating the best results in the history of the college after putting tremendous hard work and dedication into their studies.
Principal, Emma Fielding, said “Today’s results are absolutely stunning. I am unbelievably proud of our students, not just for their incredible academic achievements but also for the contribution they have made to our college community through their curiosity, commitment and kindness.”
The overall A Level pass rate at Huish was 99%, with almost a third of students achieving an A/A* and a hugely impressive 62% achieving high grades A*-B, 8% above the national average.
At Huish 84% of A Level students gained A*- C grades. Top performers did extremely well across a wide range of courses, with over 10% (103 students) achieving three or more A*/A grades.
Student results on Extended Diploma Vocational qualifications were equally exceptional, with over 80% of students achieving high grades, with at least one distinction grade in their profile and 15% of students gaining the very top results of triple distinction*.
The college also celebated Huish’s first cohort of T Level results in education and early years, with 82% of students gaining a distinction or merit, with many moving into careers and further study in the education sector.
Among the many exceptional performances were Maria Jiga (Hans Price Academy, Weston-Super-Mare) A*A*A*A, securing a commercial degree apprenticeship with Rolls Royce, Chloe Fry (The Castle School) A*A*A, going to Cambridge to study medicine, Henry Nicholas (Monkton Wood Academy) A*A*A*A*, progressing on to read mathematics at Warwick University and Charlotte Mills (Kingsmead School) A*A*A*AA, progressing on to LSE to read financial mathematics and statistics.
The college is not only celebrating fantastic results this year but also the wide and interesting range of destinations its students are progressing on to – from egyptology to entrepreneurship and paleontology to optometry.
Ms Fielding added: “These results are a culmination of years of learning, and I’d like to thank our partner schools for laying the foundations on which these successes are built and to our parents and carers for the support and encouragement they have provided.
“I also want to recognise the exceptional dedication, passion and professionalism of our phenomenal Huish staff who, day in day out, give their all to enable our students to blossom and succeed.”
