The Children’s Hospice South West has benefited this year from the fundraising efforts of the Albert Goodman team, raising £12,000 for their chosen charity of the year through various fundraising and employee engagement initiatives.
Every year, staff from each of Albert Goodman’s offices in Taunton, Bristol, Yeovil, Weston-super-Mare and Weymouth vote for a charity to support. Many of the charities are chosen due to personal connections with members of staff and their families. Staff are encouraged to carry out fundraising for the annual charity, led by a charity fundraising team, with a representative from each office or department taking part.
This year’s choice is the Children’s Hospice SouthWest. The charity provides hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and their whole family across the South-West. The care they offer is wide ranging; respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care.
Over the past 12 months, staff have engaged in fundraising activities such as cycling to work, a half marathon, a whole firm annual away day charity raffle, a bake off and a 90’s day. The donation will go towards providing vital services for the region’s hospices in North Devon, North Somerset and Cornwall.
Michelle Ferris, Partner and Head of Charities at Albert Goodman, said: “The firm’s culture embeds a strong sense of community, and we feel it’s important for staff to contribute to their local charitable and community environment.
“We are delighted that we can offer some extra support after a very challenging two years for charities. £12,000 will make a real difference to Children’s Hospice South-West and we are proud to support such a worthy cause with this donation.”
