Students at Taunton School Sixth Form have received the school’s strongest A Level and BTEC exam results in recent years.
68% of A-Level results were graded A*-B, while 39% were either A* or A. 84% of BTEC results were Distinction or Distinction*. Combined with the IB results from earlier in the summer, 46% of all the School’s Year 13 results are A*-A or equivalent with 72% being A*-B.
Jennifer Taylor, Head of Sixth Form at Taunton School, said: “These results are thoroughly deserved, reflecting our students’ academic ambition and the breadth of opportunities that has ensured each of them has found their path to excel. We are incredibly proud of our students and are excited to see what lies ahead for them all.” 
Taunton School Sixth Form’s highest achiever is Alan, who achieved four A* grades, in biology, chemistry, maths and further maths, plus an A* for his EPQ.
Alan said: “I’m really pleased to have achieved 5 A*s and I look forward to what the future holds for me at Imperial College London”. Alan will be studying biological sciences.
Congratulations should also go to Jack, who achieved three A* grades, in biology, chemistry and maths, plus an A* grade in his EPQ and an A grade in Latin.
Elle was the school’s highest achiever in BTEC, studying sport and exercise science, and receiving D*D*D*. Martha and Rory both achieved D*D* in BTEC Business, with Rory also receiving an A grade in A-Level Economics.
Earlier this summer, Taunton School’s Year 13 students celebrated exceeding the International Baccalaureate (IB) global average score, with an average of 33 compared to the global average of 30.
IB students have now advanced to higher education at institutions including University of Edinburgh, London School of Economics, and University of Bristol, as well as international schools in France, Germany, USA, Italy, Spain, and more.
