61% of A-Level results have been graded A*-B, while 34% are either A* or A. 60% of BTEC results are Distinction or Distinction*. Combined with the International Baccalaureate (IB) results from earlier in the summer, 42% of the School’s Year 13 results are A*-A or equivalent with 73% being A*-B.
The School’s top 100 students across its A-Level, BTEC and IB pathways performed particularly well. 50% of their grades were A* or A, or equivalent, and 84% were A*-B or equivalent.
Jennifer Taylor, Head of Sixth Form at Taunton School, said: “I am incredibly proud of each and every one of our students for their outstanding A-level, BTEC and IB results this year. Their hard work, determination, and resilience have been rewarded with fantastic achievements.
“Behind every set of results is a unique story of dedication, perseverance, and personal growth, and each student should take great pride in all they have accomplished. I am excited to see them each take their next steps, whether that be university, apprenticeships, employment, or other exciting opportunities, and I wish them every success in their future.”
In a cohort in which nine students achieved at least three A*s or the equivalent, Taunton School Sixth Form’s highest achiever was Rohan, who has achieved the top grade in each of his A-Levels in chemistry, maths, further maths and physics.
Rohan has said: “I am happy with the four A*s I have achieved: it is a good ending to the great time I have had at Taunton School.” Rohan will be studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol.”
Earlier this summer, Taunton School’s Year 13 students celebrated their results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, achieving an average score of 34 compared to the global average of 31.
Four students achieved at least 40 points out of the maximum 45 possible, with Paul being the School’s highest IB achiever with a score of 42.
