After a four-year hiatus, the event will celebrate its 40th edition, bringing together runners, spectators, and the wider community for a day of celebration, achievement, and local spirit. 
The Taunton Half Marathon has long been a favourite in the town’s sporting calendar, known for its supportive atmosphere and scenic route. This exciting revival, organised by Active South West, will maintain the event’s legacy while introducing fresh new elements, including a ‘Kids Kilometre’ fun run, a town centre race HQ, and a spectator-friendly finish along North Street with the iconic Market House as the backdrop.
As a firm dedicated to investing in local initiatives, Porter Dodson is incredibly proud to sign a three year partnership with Active South West, supporting the return of this landmark event back to Somerset’s County town, and in true Porter Dodson sporting style will be entering a number of runners to represent ‘Team PD’.

The Taunton Half Marathon is being revived by Active South West, a collaboration between local race directors Dan Brice (Channel Events), Alex Bennett (Prosper Events), and Dave Urwin (Albion Running). Their shared vision is to bring people together through outdoor events that promote health, happiness, and community.
