Stone King has named Charlotte Macdonald as a new partner. She joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2013, qualifying into the firm’s trust and estates team in 2015. She then moved to the international and cross-border team in 2016 where she has become recognised as a highly technical and competent cross-border lawyer.
Charlotte is a full member of STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and has achieved the specialist STEP advanced certificates in Cross-Border Estate Administrations and UK Tax for International Clients. She deals exclusively with work which includes an international or cross-border element.
Dan Harris, partner and head of international and cross-border at Stone King, said: “It was clear from the beginning of Charlotte’s employment that she was going to go far in the team, at Stone King, and in the legal profession as a whole.
“She is an undeniable asset and a joy to work with; we are extremely happy to have her join the partnership.”
Charlotte’s expertise is far-reaching, and her work includes: providing detailed cross-border estate planning and tax advice, preparing wills for international and UK-based clients and administering complex cross-border estate administrations.
Charlotte works both for private individuals and, where her expertise and knowledge on cross-border work is required, other solicitors.
Charlotte said: “It is wonderful to have been promoted to partner. I joined Stone King as a trainee, so to have worked my way up and to have been given the opportunity to represent the firm’s values, as well as help to shape its future, is very exciting.”
As well as her legal expertise, Charlotte regularly contributes articles giving practical advice to French Entrée, the leading website for those interested in buying property and living in France.
Stone King operates nationally with offices in Bath, Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds, London and Manchester.
