Somerset Skills & Learning (SS&L) is relocating from Blackbrook Business Park, on the outskirts of Taunton to The Albemarle in the heart of Taunton, with classes starting there from July 10.
As a not-for-profit company, SS&L engages with around 4,000 learners every year through the delivery of courses and workshops. The company want to be as accessible to as many people as possible and feel it is essential to be part of the community their learners live in.
SS&L has recently reviewed the location of its centres and recognised their current setting at Courtenay House, while easily accessible by car, is not ideal being located on the outskirts of Taunton.
SS&L has an established relationship with Taunton’s Albemarle, a registered charity sharing the same ethos of bringing people and communities together. The Albemarle is located in the centre of Taunton, making it more accessible to all learners.
Kathryn Baker, CEO at SS&L, said: “I think The Albemarle is a fantastic base for SS&L in the centre of Taunton. I’m excited to see how our relationship evolves over the next few years, bringing people and communities together to change lives through learning.”
The Albemarle is fully accessible, with bright, airy rooms and high-speed broadband, just a very short walk from Taunton town centre. The Albemarle Meeting Place Cafe offers great refreshments and a cosy and welcoming environment. It’s a great place to meet, chat and learn!
David Joslin, Director at The Albemarle, added: “Having enjoyed working alongside SS&L many times, moving to The Albemarle is a natural progression. We’re delighted with this opportunity to further our mutual collaboration, for the benefit of all who use the fantastic community resources here on Taunton’s doorstep.”
SS&L is supporting their learners through the move and committed to minimising any negative impact the change has, ensuring learners continue to attend their courses and achieve their learning and career aspirations. To find out more contact SS&L for further information – www.sslcourses.co.uk
