Some 22 members of the Forget-Me-Not Café, including carers and volunteer helpers and organisers, enjoyed a fantastic outing to Doniford Farm Park near Minehead courtesy of Somerset Passenger Solutions and Hinkley Point C.
The Forget-Me-Not Cafe, in Stogursey, provides support and companionship to those who are recognising issues with their memory, as well as their carers, family and friends.
The members were chauffeured by SPS drivers Jim Treadaway and Nick Hutt. The group enjoyed lunch at the park and sang happy 92nd birthday to one of the café members.
Rose, trip organiser from the Forget Me Not Café, said: “The trip would not have been possible without the support from Somerset Passenger Solutions and Hinkley Point C. The group will be chatting about this for weeks.”
The Forget-Me-Not Café received a Community Award from Somerset County Council last year in recognition of the tremendous work they do to provide a social and supportive group for the elderly in the Stogursey community and, importantly, their carers.
Nick Hutt, Tours, Events and Excursions Lead Supervisor at SPS said: “This was a highly enjoyable and heart-warming day out and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces. At SPS, we are committed to supporting the communities we operate in. We look forward to our next community adventure”.
