Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance will once again be holding its 5K Twilight Shift on Saturday, July 6, and there are only 500 places available for those who wish to take part.
For the third year running, the event will take place at Henstridge Airfield on the Dorset/Somerset border; the operational base for the charity’s life-saving critical care team.
Participants can run, jog, or walk the 5K and enter as an individual, as a family, or a group. Businesses or groups could use it as a team building exercise, or in-house competitions with friends and colleagues.
The event is open to all-comers, from serious runners, or those who simply want to have fun. Runners can wear fancy and can walk the course if they prefer.
The first 100 adults who enter, will receive a free t-shirt and the charity hopes that anyone who is fortunate to gain a place, will use the opportunity to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship.
Alana Hardy, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Fundraising Events Officer, said: “Our 5K Twilight Shift is always an inspiring event and we are hoping to build on the success of previous years and make this one better than ever.
“It’s really special, as people who take part, get to meet members of our crew and often see the aircraft depart should our team be needed to respond to an incident.
“The atmosphere is really fun, but the cause is so very important. People who join us on the day and raise money in sponsorship will be helping us to continue saving lives, today, tomorrow and in the future. I would encourage everyone, no matter your age or ability to register and take part!”
