Porter Dodson has achieved B Corp Certification, joining a growing global community of businesses committed to balancing people, planet and profit.
A spokesperson for the company said it was a significant milestone for Porter Dodson, reflecting the firm’s strong commitment to its people and culture and its wider commitment to environmental responsibility.
Achieving certification means Porter Dodson now sits alongside a growing number of like-minded companies worldwide, and a select group of law firms nationally, who have demonstrated that commercial success and positive impact can go hand in hand.
Kate James, Managing Partner at Porter Dodson, said: “I am extremely proud of the team at Porter Dodson for their commitment to this project. Our ESG Partner, Jenny Shepherd, and the wider team have worked hard to achieve B Corp Certification, but just as importantly, the whole firm has shown that we live, work and operate in line with the high standards set.”
Jenny Shepherd added: “Achieving B Corp Certification is the result of sustained effort across every part of the firm, not just a single initiative. It has given us the opportunity to look closely at how we operate and to formalise the things we already cared about, from how we support our people to how we manage our impact on the environment and the communities we work in. This is a milestone, not the end, and we’re looking forward to building on this achievement.”
The achievement builds on a period of sustained growth for Porter Dodson. B Corp is one of the most widely recognised marks of corporate responsibility, measuring a company’s impact against five key areas: governance, workers, customers, community and the environment.
Firms must reach a demanding threshold to certify, and are reassessed every three years against increasingly stringent standards, ensuring that certification reflects a continuing commitment rather than a one-off achievement.
