One-of-a-kind Coldplay collectable raising funds for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance

A handmade knitted Chris Martin doll, created by Somerset crafter Sandra Witcombe to celebrate the band’s Glastonbury 2024 headline performance and signed by Coldplay, is being offered in a Crowdfunder Prize Draw to support Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s 2ndHeli Appeal.

Unlike the “nudiknit” figures that Sandra and her friends display in the Hive Café shop window in Shepton Mallet, this doll is different. It is fully dressed in one of Chris Martin’s stage outfits which includes detail like lyrics on the trousers and the jewellery he wears.

The doll’s story is almost as special as the item itself. After being picked up from the Hive Café, it travelled with Coldplay on their Music of the Spheres World Tour, sitting in the band’s dressing room, roaming backstage and even appearing on stage at the Olympiastadion in Munich.

All four members of the band, Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion signed the doll’s t-shirt at Wembley Stadium this summer and then returned the doll to Sandra, far exceeding her original hope of a signed photo.

Having read about Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s 2ndHeli Appeal, aimed at raising the final £1 million towards a second helicopter, Sandra gifted the doll to the charity, hoping it would help raise funds for their latest campaign.

Coldplay fans and supporters of the air ambulance now have the chance to win this truly one-of-a-kind signed collectable by entering the Crowdfunder prize draw.

Tracy Bartram, Communications Manager at Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, said: “We are thrilled to launch our very first Crowdfunder prize draw and with such a fantastic item.

“Rather than auctioning the doll, which is raising funds in support of our 2ndHeli Appeal, we wanted anyone to have the chance of taking part, so for as little as £10, you can have an entry in the draw.

“For Coldplay fans, this is a truly special prize, and for everyone else who enters, it’s a chance to make a real difference for our life-saving cause.”

The Crowdfunder Prize Draw runs until Friday, February 27, 2026 and costs £10 for one entry, £20 for two, £50 for five or £100 for 10 entries.
