Musical theatre is returning once again to Taunton Brewhouse this summer, offering the opportunity for children aged 12-17 years to immerse themselves in a week-long programme of music and theatre, set within the stunning auditorium of Taunton’s Brewhouse theatre.
With a limited number of places available, the MERMAIDS Musical Theatre school is running from Monday, July 22, to Friday, August 26, from 10am to 5pm on all days apart from Friday when the day finishes at 2pm ahead of a final performance. Attendees will be able to rehearse with professional theatre-makers Jen Fletcher and Harry Blake, as well as perform on stage at the end of the week from 5pm to 7pm on the final day.
MERMAIDS is a warm-hearted comedy about a drama group in a remote Cornish fishing village. A real feel-good show about teenage obsession, local politics, and a need for glitter in a world full of grey.
Amy Bere, Chief Executive, of Taunton Brewhouse, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer something genuinely exciting for our Musical Theatre School this summer. The opportunity for young people to be taught by leading actors within the iconic setting of the Taunton Brewhouse is an opportunity not to be missed.”
The cost of the week-long summer school is just £70 per student and places can be secured online (https://www.tauntonbrewhouse.co.uk/events/musical-theatre-summer-school-mermaids/) or by calling the Taunton Brewhouse Box Office on 01823 283244.
