Year 13 students at Taunton School are celebrating after they received their International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) results, achieving a pass rate of 96%. The average score achieved by Taunton School students was 32.7, compared to the global average of 30.
Adrian Roberts, Assistant Head Global and IBDP Coordinator, said: “Once again, the Year 13 IBDP students at Taunton School have come up trumps gaining a strong cohort average as well as securing some impressive overall individual points scores, all of which are testament to their commitment, hard work and dedication. As IBDP Coordinator at Taunton School, I am very proud.” 
IBDP students at Taunton School received offers from a range of top universities this year, including in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and the USA, extending the school’s vast global network.
The International Baccalaureate has been established for more than 50 years with Taunton School being one of the first in the South West to offer the diploma.
The globally-recognised qualification sees students study six subjects of their choice and three core elements, theory of knowledge, extended essay and creativity, activity and service (CAS) and is taught in 143 countries around the world. A score of 36 out of 45 is equivalent to three A grades at A-Level.
