At the end of October, Neil Stradling, of FirePro Risk Management and Training, ran a series of free community workshops, in North Somerset for both parents and grandparents and those with new arrivals due!
There was a fantastic turnout with over 30 people attending. Neil put them through their paces training them in the basic lifesaving skills of paediatric CPR and choking.
These essential skills will enable them to undertake immediate lifesaving actions to keep their loved ones alive until advanced medical assistance arrives.
Neil said: “Be it at home, the workplace or out in the community, you never know when these lifesaving skills may be required. The importance of being trained in first aid, and particularly CPR cannot be underestimated. Being trained is being prepared”
He said while the team hopes the attendees will never need to put their newly acquired skills into practice, at least they were now prepared and had the confidence to assist if required.
Moving forward, Neil is also looking forward to providing a day of free fire marshal training to the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity.
