Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance to host 24th anniversary gala dinner

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) is looking forward to its first-ever gala dinner on Saturday, March 23, at The Crown Hotel in Blandford Forum, Dorset, to celebrate its 24th year of saving lives across Dorset and Somerset.

The special evening, sponsored by Leonardo Helicopters and Lottery Fundraising Services, will be a celebration of the air ambulance’s life-saving work and aims to raise vital funds for the charity.

Last year was DSAA’s busiest on record, with the air ambulance crew being tasked to 2,224 incidents. Each year it costs £10M to keep the charity’s helicopter, cars and specialist crew operational for 19 hours every day, 365 days a year. With the number of missions increasing every year and operational costs rising, support from the public has never been so important.

In what is set to be a fantastic occasion, the black-tie event will include a delicious three-course dinner, a bar, fantastic live music, along with a grand raffle and auction which has some incredible prizes on offer. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet some of the air ambulance crew who work tirelessly to save lives every day across Dorset and Somerset.

A limited number of tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available for this special event, which starts at 7pm, with carriages at midnight.

Alana Sproston, DSAA Fundraising Events Officer, said: 2We wanted to celebrate our 24th year in style and what better way to do this, than with a gala dinner. We are looking forward to a fantastic evening full of fun, whilst celebrating the incredible work of DSAA.

“With some amazing prizes on offer in our grand raffle and auction, we hope the evening will be a huge success and raise vital funds, enabling our crew to be there for patients today, tomorrow and in the future.”
