Dementia charity to stage fundraising jailbreak

Dementia charity Reminiscence Learning will be holding a fundraising jailbreak on May 21 from Shepton Mallet Prison.

Participants will be taking part in an escape room challenge before calling on friends, work colleagues and family to ‘post bail’ to raise money for the charity.

A spokesperson for the charity said the jailbreak  would be a fun and immersive fundraising event where participants experience a prisoner’s day at Shepton Mallet Prison.

Participants will be “locked up” and must raise a “bail” of at least £500 by asking friends, family or colleagues to sponsor them.

The event is open to anyone aged 18 and over provided they are in good physical and mental health. Unfortunately, due to the age of the prison building and the facilities the event may not be suitable for those with certain medical conditions or mobility issues.

The event will take place from 10am to 3pm with a registration free of £50 to cover the costs of the event.

To take part, participants can register online here: https://form.jotform.com/243492007788061
