Once a Victorian factory, the Collar Factory (part of the Forward family of workspaces) in Taunton is now a modern workspace home to some of the most exciting new and growing businesses in Somerset.
Spread over three floors the building has co-working, meeting rooms, a relaxed lounge and kitchen space and two floors of private studios, all designed by Bristol-based design studio, Shape.
To celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of Taunton’s business community, Collar Factory has teamed up with Digital Somerset, Teapot Creative and Tech South West, to launch Start-up at Collar Factory – a competition to win a three-month tenancy at Collar Factory.
Aimed squarely at new and growing businesses, the competition will provide much-needed support for the early stages of a business by giving a fledgling enterprise the space to grow and explore ideas, without the pressure of workspace costs.
The competition is open to any business with a turnover of £150k or less. To apply, entrants simply need to outline why office space would help take their business to the next level by submitting either a written statement, a presentation or a short video. Full entry criteria can be found at collarfactory.co.uk/startup. Deadline for submissions is midnight, Friday, November 3, 2023.
Gavin Eddy, CEO of Forward, said: “I’ve loved seeing the countless businesses we’ve worked with over the years grow and find success after using one of our spaces. Helping to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurial talent in the South West is something I’m very passionate about too, so I can’t wait to see what interesting proposals we see over the coming weeks.”
