Frome-based charity We Hear You is appealing for people to support its annual Christmas fundraising initiatives as it expects extra demand on its services over the festive period.
The charity provides counselling and emotional support for patients, families, friends and carers who have been affected or bereaved by cancer or any other life-threatening condition, across Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire. 
A spokesperson said: “Life is tough all year round for people affected by a life-threatening diagnosis or bereavement.
“However, moments of celebration such as the Christmas period can be particularly hard for those facing an uncertain future, or missing a loved one who has died. As a result, we usually see an increase in demand around the festive season.”
There are many ways businesses and individuals can support the charity:
“This year we have experienced a significant reduction in grant funding yet demand for the vital support we offer remains very high, which could place many of our vital services at risk so the support from our communities is now more important than ever,” the spokesperson said.
