Somerset Film will be holding a BFI Film Academy for 16 to 19-year-olds in Bridgwater for young people who are passionate about film. There will also be a BFI Film Club in Minehead for 12 to 15-year-olds.
As a student on the Film Academy short course, people gain hands-on film making experience, working alongside industry professionals to develop practical knowledge and skills. On the seven day course, participants make two short films, watch films, receive career signposting, work towards a recognised Arts Award qualification and receive career masterclasses.
The academy starts on Saturday, January 14 and applications are now open. The closing date to apply is 5pm on Wednesday, January 4.

During the week, particpants make and star in their own short films and there will be a screening of the final films for friends and family at the Regal Theatre in Minehead.
The next club is taking place in Minehead at the Minehead Eye during February. Applications are now open, with the deadline on Sunday, February 5.
