Amarin Rubber & Plastics launches new community fund to help local projects

Weston-super-Mare-based Amarin Rubber & Plastics has launched its own community fund to provide even more support to the local community.

The Amarin Community Fund confirms the company’s existing commitment to provide as much support as possible for local projects.

Managing Director, Alex Howells, said: “At Amarin we have always strived to support our local community in any way we can. This announcement that makes that official.

“From 2025 the company is making a fund available for members of our team to support causes that mean a lot to them.”

Over the last 21 plus years the company has supported many local causes, including the local Children’s Scrapstore. The charity diverts reusable waste away from landfill/energy recovery to help improve art and play opportunities for children, young people and adults.

Amarin has also recently partnered with Bristol’s ice hockey team, The Bristol Pitbulls to bring their roadshow to a local school. As a sponsor of the team, the company was keen to help build community ties with the school. The visit promoted active lives, healthy eating and more to over 200 teenagers.

In recent times, Amarin as donated time and materials to a local Carnival club to help with their fundraising efforts and did much the same for local Volkswagen charity club, Vee Dub Family to aid their amazing “Xmas Dubs” fundraising.

The team also supports Bristol Children’s Hospital’s “Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal” each year and has a long sponsorship record at Weston Cricket Club, particularly the youth section. Managing Director, Alex, also volunteers as a coach in the under 13 age group.

Alex added: “During 2024 we have also made donations to local dog charities, members of the Amarin Family raising money for cancer research and more.

“If any of our team wants to make a donation, of any sort, to their chosen charity we will do our best to give back.

“Community is the foundation of our local area and we are proud to support it. We will keep everyone updated of the causes we help in 2025.”
