A team from Dorset based building company Modulek has been named the winner of a signed AFC Bournemouth football after taking part in Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s Big Keepy Uppy Challenge, which raised £3,406.25 in support of the charity’s life-saving work.
The challenge encouraged people across Dorset and Somerset to complete 3,000 keepy uppies. The target was inspired by the charity’s annual mission figures, with its crew called out by air and road 2,738 times last year.
Families, schools, workplaces and sports teams rose to the challenge. Everyone who signed up was entered into a prize draw to win a signed AFC Bournemouth football, generously donated by the club, which last year chose Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance as one of its offiicial Charity Partners.
Among those who took part was a team from Modulek, with colleagues from across the business coming together to reach the 3,000 keepy uppy target. Their efforts raised an impressive £670 and they were selected as the lucky winners of the signed football.
Ian Grundy, Non-Executive Marketing Director, at Modulek said: “The team at Modulek achieved 3,000 keepy uppies in just one session – with many colleagues joining in to have some fun and support this very worthy cause. The team was super pleased to support the very important work of Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.”
Rosie Cornelius-Light, Fundraising Officer at Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, said: “A massive thank you to everyone who took part in our first ever Big Keepy Uppy Challenge! It was amazing to see so many people getting involved and embracing the excitement of the World Cup whilst supporting the charity.
“From families, workplaces, and youth teams, it’s been fantastic to see people having fun and making a real difference. We’re also incredibly grateful to AFC Bournemouth for supporting the challenge and donating a signed football as a prize!”
