Karen Morledge, Somerset-based founder and managing director of marketing and PR company, Morledge & Co, has won a top South West award for leadership in her chosen field.
At a glittering awards night hosted at Bristol’s Harbour Hotel, Karen collected The Business Desk Leadership Award in the sales and marketing category. 
The awards were set up by The Business Desk, the UK’s leading regional digital business news provider, to celebrate people who are role models in their organisations and who raise the bar for their competitors.
Karen runs her marketing, PR and communications business from a base just outside Weston-super-Mare and has clients from a range of sectors including property development, leisure and tourism, marine and technology.
As well as running her business, Karen is on the board of Somerset Chamber of Commerce and leads five-star rated half-day ‘PR Mastery for SMEs and Entrepreneurs’ workshops that have helped hundreds of people manage their own public relations.
Speaking after the ceremony Karen said: “I was so surprised when they read out my name and I am absolutely thrilled with this recognition. I love what I do so it is a pleasure to go to work every day but to win an award for it is a real bonus.
“It is so satisfying to help ambitious businesses put themselves on the map. Often, they are so busy doing what they do that they forget to tell everyone about it and that is where my team and I can help.”
