SSG Training & Consultancy staff do their bit for charity

SSG Training & Consultancy staff have been taking part in numerous charitable events throughout the year, raising a substantial sum for various good causes.

In July, they took part in St Luke’s Midnight Walk for the third year in a row. This time, 11 team members braved a rather wet night, decked out in pink and glitter, to walk six miles across Plymouth and raising a whopping £270 for St Luke’s Hospice.

Recently, to celebrate UEFA Euro 2024, SSG hosted a sweepstake with the proceeds going to the winner’s charity of choice which was Cancer Research UK. There was also support for Prostate Cancer’s #Shirt2Work campaign and members of the team took part in The Great Tommy Sleep Out to raise awareness and funds for homeless veterans.

The event involved spending a night sleeping outside in cold and uncomfortable conditions, mirroring the realities faced by many veterans on the streets. Several members of the team showed their dedication and compassion while raising money and spreading awareness for this important cause.

Earlier in the year, they embraced the theme of this year’s Comic Relief – “do something funny for money” – and took part in cake decorating, a comedy quiz and a red nose hunt around the office, all while raising money for the charitable cause.

As well as these events, SSG have had members of the team take part in their own charitable events. These have included Race for Life 10k, Pretty Mudder 5k and a charity ball for The Royal Engineers’ Association.

There are still plenty of charitable events planned in the diary including Macmillan Coffee Morning on September 27 and a fun filled day of activities for Children in Need on November 13.
