Entries open for the Somerset Education Business Partnership Awards

Does your organisation work hard to inspire young people and develop future talent?

Do you know a young person who is committed to progressing their future career?

The Somerset EBP Awards 2023 present an excellent opportunity to celebrate this work and the opportunities that it provides to young people in Somerset across 10 categories – including Young Person of the Year, Best Placement Employer and Careers Leader of the Year.

The awards categories are:

Inspiring the Next Generation Award (1 to 249 employees)     

For small to medium sized businesses that have invested sustainably in inspiring the next generation.

Award Criteria –
Purpose: Please outline why your business invests in reaching young people and how this supports your business plans.
Partnership: Please detail how your business has engaged over the last year e.g. which establishments you have worked with, what activities you have delivered, how many young people you have reached.
Impact: Please outline the benefits this has delivered to your business and / or the young people.

Inspiring the Next Generation Award (250+ employees) 

For an individual or a company that has effectively inspired young people about future career opportunities.

Award Criteria –
Purpose: Please outline why your business invests in reaching young people and how this supports your business plans.
Partnership: Please detail how your business has engaged over the last year e.g. which establishments you have worked with, what activities you have delivered, how many young people you have reached.
Impact: Please outline the benefits this has delivered to your business and / or the young people.

Careers Leader of The Year

For the careers leader who has facilitated high quality inspiration, information and guidance for learners.

Award Criteria –
Programme: Please detail the key elements of your careers programme and how this meets student need.

Impact: Please show evidence of how this has benefitted students throughout the school.

Young Person of The Year (Key Stage 4)

For young people who have independently taken proactive steps to preparing for the workplace.

Award Criteria –
Attitude: Please outline how the student has demonstrated their interest in preparing the workplace.
Action and achievements: Please detail the specific steps the student has taken to preparing for the world of work and any related achievements.
Next steps: Please outline how the student plans to take their next steps to prepare for the workplace.
