Somerset Chamber of Commerce aims to raise the awareness of the skills and employability of our Armed Forces Community and to transition them into employment, business and our community within Somerset. With this in mind, we have recently extended our commitment to the Armed Forces by signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly. The signing took place at the Chamber’s office in Taunton, where Lt Col Peter Bates OBE and Dale Edwards, Chief Executive of Somerset Chamber of Commerce and countersigned the document, a copy of which can be found here
Wessex Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (RFCA) is responsible for the delivery of the Armed Forces Covenant in the South West region.
Businesses interested in finding out how they could benefit from pledging their support to the Armed Forces community should contact Jon Beake, the Regional Employment Engagement Director for the Wessex Reserve Forces’ & Cadets Association, on 01823 250110 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
