Students across Somerset were celebrating their results, highlighting another year of extraordinary achievements across UCS College Group.
A Level results across the Group delivered a 98% pass rate across 31 A Level subjects, with a number of subjects achieving 100% A*-C grades. Subjects such English Language and Literature, Sociology and Maths saw a record number of A*-B grades.
T Level students at Bridgwater, Strode and Taunton achieved an impressive 73% high grades (distinctions / merits).
Across the College Group, just over 1,100 students also received their Level 3 qualifications, with an outstanding pass rate of 98%. Subjects such as Nuclear Engineering, Sports Science BETEC, Performing Arts and Engineering achieved exceptionally high grades.
Louise Rowley MBE, Executive Principal, said: “I am so proud. A Level results at both Bridgwater and Strode College have improved year on year, with 42% high grades A*-B. Our T Level students gained equally stunning results across the Group, outperforming the sector.
“Students at Taunton College achieved 87% high grades, placing the Group among the top Colleges in the Country.” She continued “Our students work really hard and their dedication has paid off with fantastic results. We are excited to see them move on to prestigious universities or begin promising careers.”
Evan, who gained three A*s in Law, Psychology and Criminology, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the hard work that has gone into achieving these results. I’ve really enjoyed my time at Strode College and I’m grateful for the experiences and support I’ve had along the way.
“I’m now looking forward to the next chapter as I head to Cardiff University to study Law. It’s a great feeling to see the hard work pay off, and my advice to other students would simply be to stay focused, keep working hard and never give up.”
Destinations include offers from leading universities such as Durham, Edinburgh, Bristol and Manchester, with students progressing to subjects including law, criminology, mathematics and physics. Others have secured highly competitive degree apprenticeships in areas such as policing, nuclear engineering and IT.
