With just over two weeks remaining until nominations close, Somerset Chamber of Commerce is urging businesses, charities and other organisations to put forward their brightest young talent for the inaugural Somerset Future 30.
The new initiative aims to recognise 30 outstanding young professionals aged under 30 who are already making a meaningful impact across Somerset through their achievements in business, innovation and community engagement.
The Somerset Future 30 is designed to celebrate emerging leaders from across the county and shine a spotlight on those helping to shape Somerset’s future. There is no charge to enter and all nominations will be judged by an independent panel of local business leaders. 
Entrants must be aged 30 or under and be employed or self-employed by an organisation based in Somerset. Unlike traditional awards programmes, Somerset Future 30 will recognise a group of exceptional individuals rather than a single winner, showcasing the breadth of talent across the county.
Businesses are encouraged to nominate rising stars within their teams, while individuals can also put themselves forward. Judges will be looking for people who consistently exceed expectations, demonstrate ambition and are making a tangible difference in their workplace, sector or community.
The selected Somerset Future 30 will be recognised and profiled, culminating in a celebration event bringing together young professionals and senior leaders from across Somerset.
David Crew, Managing Director of Somerset Chamber of Commerce, said: “We’ve had a fantastic response since launching Somerset Future 30 and there is still time for businesses and individuals to get involved.
“We know there are exceptional young people making a real difference in organisations and communities across the county, but too often their achievements go unrecognised.
“Whether it’s someone leading a project, driving innovation, supporting colleagues or making a wider impact in their community, we want to hear their story. With the deadline on August 14 fast approaching, now is the time to submit a nomination.”
The Chamber has worked with creative partner Hatched Agency to develop the programme’s branding and website. Barclays, Elite Staffing Solutions and Yeovil College / NextGen Somerset have already confirmed their support as sponsors.
