Somerset‑based health insurer WPA is celebrating an exceptional first quarter of 2026, having secured three major independent recognitions that highlight its position as one of the UK’s top private health insurers and a valued employer within the region.
The accolades, from Health & Protection, Moneyfacts, and MyTribe underline the organisation’s longstanding commitment to service excellence, customer care and community impact.
At February’s Moneyfacts Compare Awards in London, WPA was crowned Private Healthcare Provider of the Year 2026, standing out ahead of competitors including Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva and Vitality.
Later in the month, the respected consumer site, MyTribe, once again named WPA among the UK’s highest‑rated health insurers, awarding it a 5 star rating. WPA’s Complete Health product for individuals and families scored an outstanding 89.7% thanks to its flexibility and strong customer reviews.
To end the quarter in March, WPA was ranked top health insurer in the UK by Health & Protection based on feedback from more than 300 advisers, brokers and consultants, awarding it the coveted Five Star Rating — the highest among UK providers. The report recognised outstanding service performance across customer care, claims handling and adviser support.
As one of Somerset’s longest‑established employers, WPA continues to invest in the region — providing high‑quality careers in technology, healthcare administration and customer service, alongside development pathways for graduates, apprentices and early-career professionals.
Charlie MacEwan, WPA’s Corporate Communications Director observed that, “WPA have had an outstanding first quarter of 2026. We remain the top‑rated health insurer in the Which? private health insurance survey and have led the industry on the Trustpilot review website for customer feedback for as long as I can remember.
He continues, “The recognition from Moneyfacts, MyTribe and Health & Protection further affirm all that we are doing to exceed our customers’ expectations. Such recognition is a testament to our people, purpose and service-centric culture where we put our members’ health first”.
