St Margaret’s Hospice is calling for enthusiastic volunteers to help make its new fireworks night at Taunton Racecourse on Saturday, November 8, 2025 a sparkling success.
In partnership with Sonic Fireworks, this new event promises a dazzling, music-synchronised display and a fantastic evening for all the family. The event will also mark a shining celebration of the hospice’s 45th anniversary – and to make it all happen, the hospice needs helping hands from across the community.
“We’re expecting around 3,000 visitors to join us for this unforgettable night,” said Merle Harrison-Croft, Events Manager at St Margaret’s Hospice. “From welcoming guests to selling merchandise or collecting donations, every volunteer will play a crucial part in raising funds to support patients and families facing life-limiting illness across Somerset.”
Volunteer roles include car park marshals, welcome and safety marshals, merchandise sellers, ticket sellers, and bucket collectors. In return, every volunteer will receive a free ticket to the fireworks, along with a food and drink voucher and free parking as a thank-you for their generous time and support.
Each year, St Margaret’s supports around 5,000 patients and families across Somerset, providing specialist care, comfort, and compassion free of charge at the most difficult of times. By volunteering, you’ll be helping the hospice continue this mission for local people who need it most.
