Digital solutions company Cosmic has published its latest Social and Environmental Impact Report detailing the support it has provided for businesses, charities and communities as well as individuals.
The award-winning social enterprise is determined to narrow the gulf between people who are competent with digital technology and those who struggle, in recognition that digital skills are now essential in both work and everyday life.
According to the report, in the last year, Cosmic trained more than 4,570 people in digital skills, delivered in excess of 21,474 training hours and offered technical assistance and cyber protection to numerous organisations. At the same time, it has worked hard to reduce its own carbon footprint and help others to do so too.
As well as helping unemployed individuals gain the digital skills needed for work, supporting small businesses to strengthen their online presence, and enabling larger organisations to protect their data, Cosmic has also supported people to develop in their roles and take steps forward in their careers — helping to create lasting individual and economic impact.
Cosmic CEO Julie Hawker said it was not just about the impressive numbers, it was about the individual case studies of those who had benefitted from Cosmic’s interventions: “For me, it is the personal stories that stand out and show we are truly making a difference. We are changing people’s lives, creating real social value, and proving that the dedication of our team and our commitment to the mission are so worthwhile.”
Among the highlights of 2024 for Cosmic were its work for the government backed Restart Scheme for individuals who have been out of work for at least six months and the launch of a new service to help organisations achieve Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. It also recorded a 98.6% customer satisfaction rate for its technical services.
