WPA has won the Outstanding Use of Technology award at the Cover Customer Care Awards 2023 in London, last Wednesday, in recognition of the technology the company uses on a daily basis.
The award focused on the WPA Health app, recognising the WPA team for its development, roll out, promotion and increasing the number of customers using it. The integration of the latest technologies further enhances WPA’s service proposition and provides a real point of difference from the competition.
In 2022, the WPA Health app was reimagined to give customers a dynamic and intuitive design, helping them access an ever-increasing number of features through a single app. The results speak for themselves and 2022 saw:
WPA’s Head of Business Process Change, Clare Sampson, said: “The WPA Health app is a fantastic example of innovative technology doing great things with more and more of our services available to customers 24/7.
“The WPA Health app is integral to our strategy to deliver a market leading customer experience, enabling customers to interact with us when they want. Better still, we believe that it remains the only UK health insurer app to pre-authorise claims without having to speak to anyone.”
Victoria Watts, Head of Corporate Healthcare at Howden Employee Benefit and Wellbeing, added: “Touch of a button has become reality with the WPA Health app. With its intuitive feel, customers have greater choice, control and convenience with how they make the most of their WPA benefits at any time of the day or night.
“Leveraging the latest technologies, customers can book GP appointments, pre-authorise PMI and make cash plan claims without needing to speak to someone at WPA. I really like the fact that customers do not have to download multiple apps; everything is in one place.”
