Night-time works are continuing on Somerset County Council’s upgrade of Junction 25 of the M5 in Taunton, with work currently centred on widening the roundabout.
Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd, the principal contractor for the scheme, said teams put out traffic management from around 7pm each evening, from Sunday to Thursday, ready for work to start from 8pm through to 6am. Lanes were then reopened before the morning rush hour.
In their monthly update, the contractors said: “Griffiths will work to ensure traffic keeps flowing through Junction 25 for the many thousands of supporters visiting for the key Cricket World Cup dates at the County Ground.
“We’re continuing to work at night times only and will schedule our work carefully to avoid impacting on traffic during these dates.”
