This week is Armed Forces Week – Armed Forces Day is Saturday, June 27 – and while celebrations and events have now become virtual, there are still plenty of ways people can show their support for reservists, veterans, service families and cadet force adult volunteers.
Wessex RFCA has helped to organise two virtual Armed Forces Day events. One is for the region with the second being for Yeovil and surrounding areas which is being hosted by Love Yeovil, Yeovil Chamber, RNAS Yeovilton and Wessex RFCA. Click here to find and join either event through Facebook.
On Wednesday, June 24, Commander of the Maritime Reserves, Mel Robinson, will give a Reserves Day virtual update, from 11.30am to 12.00noon on Zoom. As well as a thank you to all the supportive employers, this will be an opportunity for you to ask questions and receive a real time update from the Royal Navy Reserve. The meeting will be open to all members of the Maritime Reserves and employers. Click here to see the invite and register.
On Thursday, June 25, there will be a virtual Armed Forces Week quiz, starting at 4.30pm. Teams of colleagues, family or friends can (virtually) get together and test their knowledge of the Armed Forces and much more. Click here to sign up.
