Two more peer network programmes launched to connect SMEs

Somerset County Council is running two more cohorts (numbers two and three) of the very successful BEIS Peer Networks for businesses across Somerset.

The authority said active involvement in the Peer Network would enhance the leadership capabilities, knowledge and confidence of business owners and entrepreneurs within the local region.

It would also help build local connectivity and strength within the SME business community, by giving business leaders, owners and managers the chance to be inspired and connected with their peers in a safe, open environment.

Through active learning, the scheme offers support to find new solutions to boost personal and professional development, as well as business growth. The scheme is open to the following SMEs:

  • In operation for one year+
  • At least five employees
  • An aspiration to improve
  • A turnover of at least £100,000 pa
  • Only one participant per SME
  • The SME must be new to the programme

A former participant, Chamber member Harry’s Cider, said: “Hugely beneficial information and advice across all topics discussed.  Good to know that everyone faces the same problems from time to time.  The One to One sessions opened my eyes to looking “outside the box”.”

Places can be booked by emailing: somersetbusinesssupport@somerset.gov.uk before the end of September with the new scheme starting in October.
