South West-based chartered accountants, tax consultants and financial planners Albert Goodman has appointed returning staff member Kate Bell as a partner into its farms and estates team.
Kate returns to Albert Goodman after a five-year break, following her decision to gain management experience in a smaller firm. She now re-joins the company and will work alongside existing partners Iain McVicar and Sam Kirkham.
The new role will enable Kate to continue helping and supporting a variety of farming families across the South West with their accounts, tax, succession planning and general business progression. A hands-on approach the farming community can really benefit from in the current climate.
Commenting on her new partner appointment at Albert Goodman, Kate said: “I am really loving being back and enjoying being part of a larger firm with a wide range of expertise, whilst still having the smaller friendly approach amongst one another and our clients.
“The best part of the job, for me, is visiting farms to really get to know the client, their business and the family members involved. Gaining a good understanding of their circumstances means that you can really help the family, whether it be to understand what aspects of the business are profitable, the income and capital tax implications or how to help them achieve their personal goals.”
Iain McVicar, Head of the Farms and Estates team at Albert Goodman, added: “It’s great to be working with Kate again and we extend a huge warm welcome from all of the Albert Goodman team. Kate’s gained some vital and valuable management experience since she left the company in 2015, and I’m confident that her return will complement our ambitions for the farms and estates team. Leveraging her extensive knowledge of the industry is key right now as we support some of our customers through a difficult year.”
