Keynsham-based broadband provider Truespeed, winner of the Best Rural ISP 2019 award from the Internet Service Provider Association, has connected another four rural businesses in Somerset to its ultrafast broadband network.
Specialist organiser of cottage-based hen weekends Acacia Cottages, local independent café Chew Kitchen, outdoor sports specialist Mendip Activity Centre and award winning producer Newton Farm Foods, now have fantastically fast and reliable broadband connectivity that has had an immediate impact on their business and will last for decades.
These four businesses join a growing tribe of happy Truespeed business customers including the Pony and Trap gastropub, local charity Send a Cow and Thatchers Cider.
In late July, Truespeed joined forces with Somerset Chamber of Commerce to conduct a survey to find out the extent of poor broadband connections in the county. A link to the survey, which closes on 23 September, can be found online here.
Stephen Henagulph, Chief Executive of Somerset Chamber of Commerce, said: “Slow broadband speeds are preventing many Somerset businesses from growing in an age when good digital connectivity is vital to success. We know slow broadband speeds are causing problems for all sorts of businesses across the county and this survey with Truespeed will help us to find out where the main problem areas lie and to deliver solutions.”
“Our mission at Truespeed is to serve neglected local communities that have been battling for years with inadequate connectivity. We’re thrilled that these fantastic rural businesses and their customers now have all the broadband bandwidth they need at their fingertips, and will continue to build out our network so that more businesses get the ultrafast broadband they deserve too,” added Evan Wienburg, Truespeed CEO.
Truespeed is focused on connecting communities and businesses located in harder to reach areas of the south-west underserved by the national broadband providers. The firm’s community ethos also extends to providing free broadband for life to local community hubs such as rural schools and village halls passed by its network.
Truespeed provides ultrafast broadband via a fibre optic link directly to business premises and homes. Businesses can choose from a range of broadband packages tailored to their needs.
