Taunton School students celebrate outstanding grades in another unprecedented exam year

Taunton School students are celebrating after another challenging academic year. The students have shown resilience, adaptability and perseverance to finish their Sixth Form journey with some brilliant achievements in this year’s A level and BTEC results, as did their peers on the IB Diploma Programme.

Headmaster Lee Glaser said: “Congratulations to our Upper Sixth, who have overcome incredible challenges to achieve an outstanding set of results this year. It is the students’ hard work, and that of their teachers, that has brought about these amazing achievements, and I am very proud of our community here at Taunton.”

Taunton School teachers worked incredibly hard to interpret the guidance provided by the regulators and exam boards and deliver accurate and fair TAG (teacher accessed grades).

Taunton School students are taking up places at nearly forty different UK universities, as well as overseas institutions in countries such as Italy, Japan, the Netherlands and the USA.

Top achievers included: Sophie Fisher (A* and two As), Kate Foster (two A*s and an A), Ronnie Foster (A* and two As), Izzy Glaser (two A*s and an A), Oliver Halliday (three A*s), Ben Jackson (two A*s and an A), Edward Kerslake (three A*s), Annabelle Lewes (A* and two As) and Martha Mileham (three As).

In BTEC, students who achieved the top result of three D*s in BTEC Sport and Exercise Science included: Max Fletcher, Rhiannon Lee and Isla May.

The following students received top marks in BTEC Business: Harry Kent, Thomas Leah and Adam Small.
